Prophylaxis of acute renal or cardiac transplant rejection. It is used in combination with cyclosporine and corticosteroids. Warnings
GIT diseases; live attenuated vaccines; complete blood count performed as follows - weekly during the 1st month, twice monthly for the 2nd and the 3rd month of treatment, then monthly through the 1st yr 8, 9
Possible side effects
Anaemia; chest pain; cough; dysp- nea; hematuria; hypertension; leukopenia; neu- tropenia; infections; peripheral edema; arthralgia joint pain; GI haemorrhage; gingival hyperplasia; myalgia; neutropenia; oral moniliasis; pancreatitis; stomatitis; thrombocytopenia; constipation or diarrhea; dyspepsia; headache; nausea; vomiting; weakness; acne; dizziness; insomnia; allergic reactions.
