What it is used for

Uses Uses: temporarily relieves cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation as may occur with a cold helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to drain bronchial tubes. Clinical selection for Guaifenesin BP 100mg, Bromhexine Hydrochloride BP 4mg, Salbutamol Sulphate BP 2mg should follow culture results where relevant, Kenya STG/EML recommendations, and the current product SmPC. Class context: Expectorant [EPC]. Confirm site-specific dose, duration and monitoring before prescribing.

Warnings

Warnings Do not use in child who is taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional condition, or Parkinson’s disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your child’s prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before giving this product.

Possible side effects

Tremor, tachycardia, headache, palpitations, hypokalaemia, hyperglycaemia. Serious: arrhythmias, paradoxical bronchospasm.
