What it is used for
Therapeutic use is agent- and indication-specific within the class (Proton pump inhibitor (PPI)). Use according to culture results, national guidelines (Kenya STG/EML where applicable) and the current product SmPC. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Warnings
Use lowest effective dose/shortest duration. Long-term: hypomagnesaemia, B12 deficiency, increased GI infection risk, fracture signal, fundic polyps. Masking of malignancy — investigate alarm features.
Possible side effects
[From component Domperidone] Raised prolactin concentrations hence likelihood of having gynaecomastia and galactorrhoea; reduced libido; hypersensitivity reactions; hyper- tensive crisis with phaeochromocytoma.
Storage
Store as labelled. Keep out of reach of children.
